The Euro: Still Strong after 10 Years

I have read a topic of the Euro through a newspaper a couple of days ago. At first, 11 European countries adopted the euro on 1, January, 1999. The euro replaced currencies such as the French Franc, the Italian lira, and the German mark. The euro’s purpose is to unify the European community. However, all the European Union (EU) countries don’t use the euro. The euro has helped join EU countries’ economic interests. Today, 16 European countries use the euro. Even though the global economic recession, so far the euro has remained stable. More and more the euro’s value has increased. The euro rose as high as against the U.S dollar in 2008. Also, foreign investment has increased as well. I think EU’s plan is good idea that uses the same currency. It means the euro can ease trade and travel. For example, European who use euro can buy their good things cheaper and easier. I think to share currency is very useful and helpful system in the economic side.
